Pharmacy is an essential branch of health sciences which deals with the preparation and administration of drugs. Its prime objective is to ensure the effective and safe usage of pharmaceutical drugs in society. 
This field is divided into three major disciplines; Pharmacy Practice, Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy, and Pharmaceutics. 

Courses in Pharmacy

There are different Pharmacy courses available in India, like diploma courses, undergraduate courses, postgraduate courses, and doctoral courses. Students who wish to make their career in this field need to satisfy the eligibility criteria first. 
Generally,  there is a common eligibility criterion in private D pharma colleges. Students, who have completed their 12th class in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics with 50% marks, can apply for diploma and undergraduate courses in India. 
However, students who have completed a B. Pharm course with 50% of marks are eligible to apply for the M. Pharm course. If any student wishes to enhance his or her knowledge further in this field, he or she can apply for a Doctorate course as well. It is a research program in the field of pharmacy.
